Profile of Badri Agarwal

Mr. Badri Agarwal is a Chartered Accountant with over 39 years of experience in various fields. After working with Union Carbide from approx. 6 years he worked for over 20 years with Eicher Group of Companies (Auto & Engineering Company) in various capacities including as Managing Director of their holding Company-Eicher Good earth Ltd.

Mr. Badri Agarwal was with Bharti Group for more than 6 years. In his first assignment in Dec 1999 as Chief Executive Officer of Bharti Mobile Ltd., he helped Bharti complete the acquisition and turnaround of Cellular operations in AP and Karnataka circles. In August, 2000 he took over the responsibility of the Group’s Fixed Line Telephone Services. He was the President of Bharti Infotel since beginning of 2001 till March 2006. This group of Bharti Tele-Ventures included Fixed Line Telephone Services, Data and Broadband Services, International Long Distance and National Long Distance Services.

Effective April 2006 at the age of 55 yrs, Mr. Agarwal decided to spend most of his time on philanthropical activities and joined Bharti Foundation as President.
