Pardada Pardadi Girls Vocational School (PPGVS) is a registered
school in the state of Uttar Pradesh from nursery to class eleven.
We hope to be registered soon through class 12.
Curriculum We are a vocational school, which means half
the day in school is spent on regular studies like Math, Science, and
Hindi and the rest of the day is spent learning vocational skills.
Our students also gain life skills such as learning about leadership,
current affairs, dance, theater, music, sports, health and hygiene,
family-life issues, gender issues, money management, rural development,
and goods production and management.
Leadership and volunteer program About once a month a
student is selected to spend the day with 12 other students performing
necessary school chores, including cooking, cleaning, taking care of
plants, attending to visitors, etc. The idea is to instill in each girl
an appreciation for the dignity of work. It is a process of
self-learning and confidence-building that helps break caste barriers
amongst students. This program also helps develop a team spirit in
students.
Beyond this, we identify exceptional leaders amongst each class.
These girls are given added responsibilities that include:
Taking care of younger children
Aiding teachers
Helping
with discipline
Helping with training of cleanliness, cultural
programs, education and vocational skills, and more.
We look to this program to identify potential future teachers at
PPGVS.
