What is PPES (Pardada Pardadi Educational Society)?
PPES is a registered organisation under society’s registration act in India & registered in US as a society. It works for rural development through empowerment of the rural women.

Explain about the work of PPES.
PPES is working in rural areas of Anupshahr. It is working for the development of rural India by empowerment of rural women. Empowerment is equal to social and economic empowerment. For the same PPES is running a school called Pardada Pardadi Girls Vocational School. Students are given value based education and vocational skill training in the school, which will prepare them to become enlightened women.

Why PPES works only with girls?
PPES wants to address the most vulnerable section of the society. In India and world over women & girl children are the most marginalized. Hence PPES is focusing on women and girls.

Does PPES plan to extend its services to other regions?
There are more than 50,000 families in Anupshahr, whose income is less than Rupees 600 (US $ 13) per month. Through its programmes PPES wants to reach out to all these families first. PPES would welcome partnerships with many more organisations and individuals who want to replicate this model in other places. That is how it can extend services to other regions.

For vocational training why did PPES decide on traditional skills?
Anupshahr is an agrarian society and has no other employment opportunities in the area. On the basis of market survey PPES realized that a long term sustaining trade, which will generate regular employment for the girls was production of home furnishings. Therefore it decided on making home furnishings

PPES welcomes all new ideas and suggestions for vocational training, which will lead to life long employment opportunities for the girls.

Why is PPES running school, whereas it is government’s responsibility to provide education?
Education system of India is not very meaningful, as it does not lead to employment opportunities. It also doesn’t prepare an individual for life. In order to prepare the girls to be leaders for development of the society, PPES felt a need for developing an educational system hence started with a school.

How can an individual/organisation get associated with PPES?
PPES welcome all individuals/organisations to be apart of its family. There are various ways to do so.
