Students and teachers are being trained on various issues; Focus of the training for the teachers for year2005-06 was child-centered methodology of teaching.

  • As part of the training they were also exposed to issues relating to child psychology, gender, role of a teacher teaching techniques etc. They were trained by an organization called ANKUR
     
  • Three teachers participated in training on “working with adolescents” organised by PRAVAH, a voluntary organization. This training was spread over a period four sessions, three of these sessions were the practical sessions and were conducted along with students in the school
     
  • “Role of Panchayats” (elected village governance bodies) was the topic of training organised by Indian Social Institute. Two teachers form the school also participated in this training.
     
  • Two of the newly appointed teachers (amongst the graduates from the school) were sent for training on “working in villages”. It was a seven days training and organized by PRAVAH, as a part of SMILE programme.
     
  • For teaching computers to the students a ‘training of the trainer” module was adopted. PPES entered into a contract with Hitek Peripherals for the same. One of the teachers was trained over a period of six months and he trained two other teachers to conduct classes with the students.
     
  • One teacher has attended two sessions organized by USIFE on “ teaching English”. School is still lagging behind in the skill of training students in spoken English.
     
  • PRAVAH also trained students on the issues of rural development, non-violence, role of leaders, self-analysis and introspection etc. They worked with students and teachers trough various sessions over a period of one year. These trainings have been of great help
